The refurbishment and extension project at the Maria Rosa Colaço Primary School and Kindergarten in Almada has made it possible to expand the new classrooms and increase the number of places, increasing the coverage rate of pre-school and primary education in the municipality. EB Maria Rosa Colaço will be able to accommodate 75 more pre-school children (in addition to the 50 previously existing places, for a total of 125) and 50 more primary school children (in addition to the 175 places, for a total of 225).
The refurbishment also included improvements to the school’s other spaces, such as the kitchen, canteen, multi-purpose activity room, library, outdoor space, play equipment, new teachers’ room and room for auxiliary staff, providing better conditions for those who play, study and work here.
